  • On average, the Like and Share Buttons are viewed across almost 10 million websites daily
  • Photo uploads total 300 million per day

One of the disadvantages of a social media platform like Facebook is the fact that you can end up spending hours on the platform chatting, discussing and arguing without receiving any value. The purpose of this blog is to enable you utilize digital media to grow your brand.

Here are 6 confirmed methods of getting more customers through Facebook:

1) Tag Marketing

I have been using the term “Tag Marketing” in my offline seminars in the past 8 month. I’m also amazed at the number of people who don’t really understand how Facebook tagging works and how one can use it to reach thousands of audience for free.

Here is a simple analogy of how Facebook Tagging works.  Let’s assume you have 500 friends on Facebook, by the way I have over 4000 friends and some of my friends have reached the 5000 friend limit on Facebook. Some of my friends on Facebook have 1000, 2000, 3000 and so forth friends and their friends are not my friends. At most we will have mutual friends that could be from 5-100 or more. If I tag my friends while publishing a Facebook post, the post will automatically appear on their profiles and my friend friends will also see the post. That means I have reached a wider audience that wouldn’t have read my post except that I tagged a friend who they are also friend to on Facebook.

As you can see I have tagged over 10 people on this post and if I publish the post, it will automatically appear on the profiles of those I tagged. If each person has an average friend of 2000, that means if I’m tagging 50 people I will be reaching an estimated 100,000 people for free with that particular post.

That is the power of tag marketing. But you also have to use it carefully. Don’t go about tagging people every hour. All you need to do is have a list of your friends you would want to tag. Lets assume you compile a list of 100 friends you would love to be tagging to promote your content or brand. You can decide to tag 50 today, another 50 the next 2 days. I don’t even recommend tagging daily. It can become irritating and some friends can block and unfriend you if the content you are trying to promote does not interest them. So use it wisely.

In the past 3 years, I have seen people who specifically use only Facebook tag marketing to promote their brands and attract high valuable customers. This is a very powerful technique of reaching thousands of people on Facebook for Free.

2) Group Marketing

Facebook group is another good technique to reach thousands of people for Free. There are virtually groups for any industry you can think of.

Lets assume I want to reach business owners, CEO’s and Managing Directors. All I need to do is join Facebook groups that has my target audience as members, make valuable contribution by posting quality content and market my brands once a while.

The groups that I will join will vary from those you will join but will be determine by the audience I want to reach. My company serves businesses, so I will be joining groups where business owners hangout and interact.

By making valuable contributions on these groups, I will be positioning myself as a thought leader in my industry which will result to more client’s acquisition.

3) Create a Facebook Event

Facebook event will enable you attract a targeted audience. Personally, I love attending events that has to do with marketing, entrepreneurship and technology related. You can either host your event offline or through a Webinar. The fact is if you want to attract more clients, you need to find a way to have a conversation with them and one way to do that is by organizing event. It’s a powerful way to prospect.

Here is how to create an Event on facebook.

Step one: Login to Facebook

Click on Event on the left bar of Facebook newsfeed.

Click Create event.

Choose the type of event you are creating. I personally use Public Event because I want my target audience to be able to register the event.

Fill in your event information and click create.

With those few process, you have successfully created an event. You need to either invite your friends to attend the event or use paid Facebook advertisement to promote the event to your target audience.

4) Create a Facebook Giveaway and Contest

By running a giveway or contest on facebook, you will be generating lots of buzz for your business. Contest when properly setup will enable you reach thousands of people quickly. It’s also a known fact that not everyone will win the contest but the buzz it generated can result in new clients using your products or services.

5) Use Facebook Search Bar to Find Prospects

Majority of Facebook users do not know they can actually use the search bar on facebook to prospects to a targeted audience. Let me assume I want to market to Real Estate CEO’s, I will search for Real Estate CEO on Facebook search bar.

Then I will click on “People” as the search result type.

Majority of people that will appear on the search bar are those that have CEO as their position in their Facebook profile. I can then visit their profiles and send them a private message or check their ABOUT page to see if they have their phone number or email address on their profile that I can use to send them a proposal. Most people have their phone numbers and email address on thour Facebook profile about page.

This technique is very sophisticated in reaching a precise audience. Use it wisely and professionally.

6) Use Facebook Advertising
