Despite 140 character limits, it is still possible to market on Twitter and generates results.
In my offline seminars, it is obvious a whole lot of people have challenges using Twitter for marketing. It’s either they complain that the word limits do not allow them to advertise or they don’t know how else to use Twitter to reach their target audience.
This is a valid concern.
In this blog post, I want to show you a “secret” method you can use to market on Twitter to a wider audience.
And that secret method is utilizing Twitter Trends to promote your brand.
Smart marketers and individuals have been using this method to promote their brands.
Just in case you don’t know what a Twitter trends means, here is a short explanation;
“A trend on Twitter refers to a hashtag-driven topic that is immediately popular at a particular time.”
So whenever a hashtag is trending on Twitter, that simply means it is popular at that time.
So how do you leverage on these popular hashtags to promote your brand?
Step One: Login to Twitter and check on what is Trending
Step Two: Select the trending hashtags you want to use
You can decide to use all the trending hashtags but I will not recommend that. Chose the hashtags you can creatively use.
Step Three: Tweet with that hashtag and promote your products and services.
This is where you need to be creative. Let your tweet align with the hashtag while also promoting your products and services. You need to be creative with the content you Tweet.
With these few steps, you will be utilizing Twitter Hashtags to promote your products and services.
You just need to be careful while using this technique. Don’t go about spamming trending hashtags with your products and services.
I will also advice you avoid negative trending hashtags for promotion. If there is a terrorist attack, death, natural disaster or any bad news that is trending on Twitter, be human enough not to use such hashtags for promotion.
That is the moral thing to do. Beyond that, you can utilize other hashtags that is not in any way negative to promote.
Lastly, use this Twitter Trend marketing technique wisely.
